Our Refined Matcha

Suruga Pass is the matcha we chose when we wanted something a little more refined — vivid green, smooth and balanced, with a gentle umami and a clean finish.

Produced by a Shizuoka tea maker established in 1899, this first-flush matcha blends teas from Shizuoka and Kagoshima. What stood out to us was its versatility: smooth enough to enjoy simply whisked with water, yet with enough character to make an exceptionally good matcha latte.

It is the matcha we reach for when the everyday ritual deserves something a little more special.

Taste Profile

Rich in umami with remarkable depth and layers of flavour, Suruga Pass Matcha offers a vibrant, grassy character with just a hint of pleasant bitterness. Its vivid green colour is as striking as its full, expressive taste. To me, it’s everything I love about matcha, with an extra richness and complexity that makes every sip feel special. Beautiful as usucha (thin matcha) or a simple latte, especially when you want to turn an everyday moment into a little occasion.
Preparation

Whisk 1 tsp with 50 ml hot water (80 °C) until smooth. Enjoy as is, or add water or milk to taste.
